If you used thin brass rods I think the Dremel will be able to cut it before you reach the plastic's melting point. If you want you could immerse the part in water, the water will act as a heat sink.Leave a comment:

Needed to pull the upper hull port side in a bit so created a tab. Also the upper hull port side was warped a tiny amount so clamped hull on a flat board where no light passed thru between the hull seam and the board, carefully appplied heat with a heat gun.
