cut off 1cm from the middle section of the sail just a few mm before it curves back down. leave the forward portion and the courve itself as-is

id say you take the 2nd sail and shorten it. the fin on the forward deck should be the underice-sonar ONLY fitted on proj 627A, your pictures show K-3 that had its underice sonar in the forward portion of the sail..and K-3 had several sails. your picture should show the original one ( long white stripe on the forward sail). you need to decide what type you want to build. K-3/627 had a round sail both forward AND aft(convex courve). while 627A had a more decent courve forward and more of a streight edge to the stern what looks just like your 2nd sail, which still appears too long. i can give you a picture of the sail of my 627 that gave me the creeps when building it long ago in a galaxy far far away...

To my untrained eye, your second sail looks a little off. I feel like the front / top needs to be rounded more like the shorter sail in the other picture. If I had to pick between them, I�d go with the original one.

Yep. Its straight off the newer plans. Neither one looks exactly right.

Your first sail looks like k 3, the other one like 627A.but that sternward courve needs to be shallower. A continuing curve, no edge towards the sails roof.maybe it is 1cm too long.

Doing a final alignment check before filling all of the dings, holes and cracks.

And now a serious question. I've followed the plans that I have to hand and this is the shape and size of the tower/fin/lump in the moddle.

Given that everything else on these plans is inaccurate, I'm assuming that this tower/fin/lump in the middle is too. It looks wrong to my eye at any rate. Below is a second version made to the shape shown in my newer, but who knows how accurate plans. Up to you guys- what do you think?
