You bet. That will work. I'd sort of intended to use that stern tube extension as a bit of a fudge factor in case I stuffed someting up with the rear geometry in any case so forge ahead, 1mm it is.

Scott: I'm deep into the working drawings for the propellers. With a hub diameter of 6mm and a stand-off distance of 3mm between the tip of the dunce-cap and the leading edge of the stern planes this results in a very short hub and dunce-cap combination. Can we get away with only a 1mm stand-off between dunce-cap and stern plane? And I'm assuming your placing the after terminus of the stern tubes aft of the horizontal stabilizer trailing edge the 3mm we see on the plans we're using. Any chance of making that stand off distance 1mm?

These recommendations posited to keep the hub and dunce-cap assembly from appearing too 'fat'.

As you can see in the picture of a real FOXTROT, they put the duce-cap tip only inches away from the leading edge of the rudder and stern planes.

Thoughts, oh great Pattern-Maker from down-under?

One more propeller question, Scott: What is the diameter of the propeller hub? In other words, what's the outside diameter of the stern tubes? I'm already at work on the blade blanks and soon will have to make the two hubs and dunce-caps so I can start assembling the two propeller masters.

Not to mention creepy looking as all hell! Yikes! But yes, what a clever idea.

Took a closer look on K8 and i now believe the bow planes to be of one piece only, no trim flap etc. i think the line one can see is simply an accumulation of drain holes as the planes are hollow parts.

I won't question your evaluation of the photos. And, by the way, going negative on the one shot was most revealing. Simple slab type control surfaces they are then.
