I'm trial fitting the brass inlay to make sure that it will fit. In the past I have fitted the inlay to the plug and then cast it using silicone rubber to capture all of the detail. This time I'm thinking of making the mould with recesses cast into it and then fitting the brass inlays to the finished hulls. Requires more brass inlays but should produce a cleaner finished product. We'll see.

PS. The reason that I rediscovered the bow photograph showing the correct detail was that I had taken it out of the "Beluga" folder so that I could send a copy to Bart during the grerat rear hatch debate. I forgot to put it back in the folder and missed the detail when I did the scribing. So.... as always, IT's BART's FAULT!!!

I've never seen No1 either. Do you have any of the sail taken from either side square on? Little problem with the rear sail vents.

This was all going swimmingly when, I discovered a new and interesting photograph of the bow section. Thus:

I have two different sets of plans for this boat however this photograph proves both of them to be wrong. What I had marked out as a cable locker is in fact the forward capstan. The cable hole is well forward. I also managed to get the forward bolards in backwards. So back to the drawing board.

New changes as of this afternoon.

More marking and scribing today. Still lots of stuff to get marked off on the forward section of the hull.

More work on the sail. The rised (and messy) scribing hasn't been sanded down yet. It will look a little more uniform once its flattened to the same level as the rest of the hull.
