Thought I'd posted up in this forum.. maybe there are two going? At any rate. I've got more of these things coming. $395 is cost exworks my shop in FL. I've also got a bead on a really nice set of photoetch for this kit.

    Order at: http://www.rc-submarine.com/product-...2-778dc68bb88a

My current build for this thing will be undergoing wet trials this weekend, weather permitting. I used 2.5" cylinder sections for motor and battery and a 3" tube for the ballast tank. The tank is exactly 6" long and she ballasted out just about perfectly. Perhaps adding another 10% "fudge factor" as his holiness calls it would be a good idea.

This means that you have to dis-assemble the hull into many small pieces to get the sub-driver out if it is too big to drop in thru the deck. Someone did not think this through when they designed the kit.
Access the the WTC is very simple. The decks bolt down, or one could use magnets (my choice). Remove 3 bolts from the rear hull section and the WTC will slide in or out. The design of this particular kit is set up to remove the rear hull section to access the WTC. Looks pretty straightforward to me, but I may have the advantage of having it on my workbench.

New scale is up and running. Should have all weights and required measurements completed in a couple of days.

Ill give you three(3) guesses.......and the first two dont count. About what Fedex brought me today. Yes, the ARKMODEL U-Boat is here. And In all Honesty, I am very impressed! The Details are Stupendous, nice crisp, well formed lines and rivets. As Silentrunner777 has already mentioned in his thread, and Bob Martin in his videos, that this was made from the outset for RC. Look at the pictures that I am posting below. Youll notice the prop shaft support bracket has brass sleeves installed already. Rudders also have pre-installed shafts. Comes with some photo-etch stuff but the details are so good already, I dont know if you will need them.
I mentioned before that this thing was about the same size as the 1/72 Gato. Well, sitting them side by side, the Arkmodel is four(4) inches longer, at least an inch wider and at least an inch deeper, which makes its presence all the more impressive. Knowing that I have this kit in my procession, its going to keep gnawing on me while Im working on other stuff, including the Oscar. Oh, and one other thing. You dont put the hull together with glue. Its screwed together. How cool is that ?
