    Todaro - Italian 212

Here we go again. The D & E 212 is one of the best kits I've assembled. So it seemed entirely reasonable to make another one! This one will be the Italian, Todaro version. Hence my question about the colour (please note the CORRECT spelling of colour - trogladites). I've washed the resin parts in thinner and the hull halves are soaking in the bath. Meanwhile, I am persuing that elusive colour!Click image for larger version

Making up the kerf, making up the kerf (sung to the tune of "bringing in the sheaves", with apologies to Knowles Shaw).

"Z" cut is complete, kerf made up and tail cone has been rivetted onto the lower hull. Its not going anywhere! Onward!Click image for larger version

COLOR, you south of the 'line', backward swirling toilet water, descendant of convicts, you!

What did you use to make up the kerf?

Pretty creative and different for a, what did you call him? Anyways, Keep posting, this is really good stuff. I missed what was your question about color (the updated and modern way to spell it). O.K. I have to tell a story here. I was 11 or 12 years old and really enjoyed opals (I still do love them). I got into cutting, polishing opals and setting them in jewelry. Anyways, I was reading so many books on opals especially the ones that were more authoritative and written not in the states. I became so accustomed to reading colour, that I wrote a paper on opals for school and got deducted a grade for spelling color "incorrectly".

Hard rock keep it up, I am enjoying what you are doing

If you can cut, drill, saw, hit things and swear a lot, you're well on the way to building a working model sub.

Ha, ha. You guys kill me. In line with your revolutionary spelling methods, I'm going to delete the letter "U" from every word that I write and let youall figure out what I mean. Yo nerstand?

I made *p the kerf with casting resin *sing the same technique (as described very eff*sively by HWSNBN in the plans) with masking tape b*t instead of *sing filler, I ran some casting resin along the edge and let it go off before sanding it back. It seems to have worked quite well. That might be beca*se there is a cast resin SD bracket b*tting *p behind it and a radial flange *nderneath it.

I made some 1mm reviets a while ago so I used six of them to firm *p the tail cone. The photograph shows the ends which I planned to snip and tap down a bit. Once they were in place I p*t a drop of thin s*per gl*e on each and they are now rock solid.

Its almost impossible to pick a colour from a computer screen photograph, however I have been looking at lots of them and they all look kinda green. Like this one.

C'mon David, just few more volleys? Can't I throw some "u" in words just because? Hard rock, you missed a u just before 6 rivets or is it reviets? Thank you, I chuckled reading your response. I especially liked "revolutionary spelling". Since Daddy David is breaking up our fun, I guess you better get back to boat at hand.
