I made inquiry the other day to the company that will supply the drives. Its a little Chinese made electric Speed Boat that I never would have considered until a friend purchased one just to get the drive from it. Powerful to say the least. With a steerable outdrive. Ill need two of them. I tried to order them and they said that they are seasonal. To call back in March. Thats my story....and Im sticking to it.

What Im going to do is rotate the steerable jet drive 90 degrees so that it will create up and down motivation. Steering will be differential, at least to start with. Efforts will be made to seal up the electric motor from the wasser(water).

Tell me about it. Going to have to wait until March or April for the drives. In the meantime I can finish "Sky" and start looking at the cut in hatch. The good thing about this WTC is that its too big. Therefore I can cut it down to fit while at the same time move the ballast tank bulkhead to expand the size of the ballast area, hopefully to get as much floatation as possible so that it sits as high in the water as possible.

So here we are with a waterproff submersible pump. My plan is to buy two of these and use them to steer the stern. That along with differential steering. Im still waiting for the drives to come in. I guess Ill place a phone call tomorrow.

Bottom line is that after more than a year, the boat that has the drives in them.........is STILL ON BACKORDER!!! They well and truly dont know when......If Ever ....that they will come in!
I can be PUSHED and PUSHED....and PUSHED again! But after a while......I find another way. Today I called an old friend...Dave Santivanez(aquadeep). I asked him if he had any? Believe it or not he has six(6) rolling around in a drawer. A deal was struck, a payment made thru Paypal, and they are soon to be on the way. Who knows. Upon there arrival, I may just become so motivated that I cant contain myself and actually do something on this project. Pictures as soon as they get here.

The aformentioned drives stolen from two jet boats are here. I was amazed at how much thrust these little things put out on 7.2 volts. They are designed for 9.6 volts. Ill have to seal up the motors and put a shaft seal on. More on that later. Excuse please the dirty fingernails. This aint no White House Press Conference ya know.

So the plan is that these thruster units will provide forward and reverse thrust, but all on one channel. So there will be know differential steering. The steering will be acomplished with the aformentioned brushless thrusters, whose outlet will be one on each side in the rear to push the back end around. The up and down pitch control will be accomplished by the nozzle that you can see in the previous set of pictures. Ill take the screws out that hold it on and rotate it 90 degrees to convert the previous rudder control into a pitch control.
