A couple weeks ago I picked up the new Bambu H2S, and so far it feels like an upgraded X1C with way more build volume. Since I’ve recently become a fan of X-sterns on subs, I made the questionable decision to start two builds at once.
I printed a 1/96 HMAS Rankin and a matching 1/48 version, both in ABS-GF, and both came out great. The 1/96 boat is planned for Cabin Fever in January, and the 1/48 is slotted for the Seattle-area show in April. The larger one is currently mocked up for Bob’s torpedo system from the Dive Tribe files—yet another reason to join Dive Tribe if you haven’t already.
The 1/96 build is getting a 2.5 Sub Driver and is basically ready to go. For the 1/48, I’m rebuilding a Shearwater (?) cylinder to power it.
Pay no attention to the lazy dog and dust in the background.
