I am currently in the process of modeling this very unique-looking subject from the anime Space Battleship 2199.

A little progress. This model has a lot of small nuances plus factoring in sculpting in Zbrush and printing for resin makes for a fun/complicated build that "should" be very cool to put next to my Yamato.

Is it easy enough converting 2D to 3D, or are a lot of steps involved?

I've been looking for software to do this....
(Not a sub, but would make for an interesting RC Flight Project, or Orbital Simulator. A bucket list project 4 me)

ALL OTHERS: FWIW, 2D Orthographic to 3D conversion would be a great tool as the tech only progresses. All those dwgs we got laying around!

Did you ever figure this out? I have some suggestions. Truth be told I could probably model this up so fast your neck would snap. I'd do it for you very cheaply because I understand your passion. Message me IF interested. Cheers!
