    Bob is correct, I use defunct battery's for "gravity weights", supports, etc. Eventually, when too many accumulate, I recycle the extra's.

    The only "battery ballast" I use onboard is the working battery.

        OK that makes sense. Thank you.
        If you can cut, drill, saw, hit things and swear a lot, you're well on the way to building a working model sub.
