I do think it was fun to post on Christmas. It does illuminate where tolerances are needed and where not needed apparently. I am sure the engine life is in minutes just like the German axile flow jet engines in the Me 262 was too! lol.
It is just fun to watch it being built.
That it will spin up to be a self-sustaining cycle - is impressive. More it really does illustrate in concept just how simple a jet engine in function really is.
If only the British air ministry had had the fore sight in the early 30's to foresee and inject admittedly very meagre precious depression era finances into Whittles project earlier. The Battle of Britian with both jets and radar? Of course, if the RAF was still using those weak 303 caliber guns on those fast jet passes, they lack time to hit anything or even aim straight enough at those speeds.
