Thanks David, they do look nice, at that moment i was full of optimism i could pull this off, i did not know Mr Murphy was looking around the corner, this will be shown at a later moment.
Ahhh, the leg!!!!
I was at a mission far below the surface of the earth, had to save some lifes, crawled through different caves and found the poor souls, while evacuating them i was attacked by a cave frog, a monster!!!!!!, tried to protect them and fell into a dark pitt, made the frog a little bit flat and survived.
So, back to reality, missed a step in the dark and fell into a drainage pitt, my right leg was locked by some tubing, so my knee twisted in a way which every ballarina can make, since i'm not a ballarina, my knee hurted like hell!!, sprained my knee-bands on the inside, if you like pain i can recommend it, it has to heal by resting, sorry, no blood involved.
For now a old man with sticks!!!!, i hate youngsters jumping around with their unhurt flexable bodies!!!!

What a bunch of fiddly, delicate, magnificent looking little parts! I love it, Manfred.
What did you do to your leg? Share the gory story with us, pal.

Finally some time to update about the lights on the radarmast, i tried to discard my lower rightleg at work, don't try this at home, today a check-up at the hospital, i'll survive, or i'll build myself a brand new bionic leg.
I managed to squeeze two 3 mm leds into this piece of sandwiched styrene, this was my start.
It has to be placed at this position, this was a dryfitt to see if the size was right.
The birth of number two, at this point i had two sets, one white/red and one white/green, time to get the mast of my model.
I Always try to make my components in such way that they can be taken apart, same story for my radarmast, i studied the inside, the smaller tube inside the mast could be used for my wires, first drill some holes into the mast.

Manfred,
Nothing wrong just different. You do great work and I learn all the time from you.
Peace,

Tom,
That was my plan B, but when using that method i had to insulate the complete radardrive, i guessed wrong that the path i followed would be less work, but it's done, and in working order, perhaps the biggest reason why my posting was low the last period.

Manfred, could you possibly use the brass tube as one of your conductors and run only one wire up the tube?Leave a comment:

Thanks,
In the real live they are much more deadly as Daleks, and i'll post the last part about the turrets.
Finished up both turrets by painting the railings and barrels black, on some of my archive pics they have a stainless steel tip, so i also added that.
This was the goal with the front turret, more scale-like, and i can remove it, to reach in for the powerswitch of my boat.
By removing the rear turret i can reach in for the flatheadscrew, this keeps the deckpart closed, which conceils my rudder-servo.
At the back on the upperstructure are some wall-closetts present, made a drawing and started cutting styrene plate, the parts needed to build up the closetts.
After a few days playing around with some glue and stainless steel rods you get this, ready for some primer.
First glued them down, and painted them later, simply because i had some colour difference, it turned out well, this ended my adventure of modifying my turrets, it turned out into a total rebuild, but it was worth it,
after that i turned my attention on the lights in the radarmast, this turned out to be a bit of a nightmare.
I'll start with the beginning, got me some very thin magnetic-wire extracted from proximity readers (luckely part of my real live job) this would become the insulated cables for my lights.
Next step was looking at the mast, in the past i had no intention to get some lights onto the mast, my luck was, i've builded up the mast from two brass tubes, the biggest one houses the radardrive, the smaller one was empty, i was wondering if the smaller one could house my lightcables, in the next update i'll enjoy you guys with some more hair raising fun.

They sure do. Outstanding detail - they look like a pair of malovelant Daleks!Leave a comment:

First i fixed my last post, the pics went gone, next batch
Made all four railings, ready to be placed.
Also made this pic to show their size, not that big, but big enough to add a lot of details.
Soldered both railings, a bit tricky with those glued rods.
And finally some primer, now they look totally different.

It was a well spent summer, i still needed to make more parts.
Heaps of base plates.
Inserting 1 mm copper rods.
The second mount finished with reinforcement plates.
Dryfitting the front turret, it was a good decision to start from scratch, much more scale as the old one.
Those parts are needed for this, at the back of the turrets there are railings, those are the mounts from the upper railing, still had to add the mounts for the lower railing.

The basic form of the front turret is ready, on the background number two in the making.
All reinforcement strips are placed, also the different strips at the front.
Cutting styrene for the next stage on the second turret.
Glued down the pvc ring and started with building up the reinforcement ribs, those small cutted pieces of styrene are made into their final shape before glueing them onto the ribs, still had to make the lower row.
Clipped down the ribs and shaped the little plates, ready for another session of glueing.

Placed those reinforcement rods onto the conical part, secured them with CA glue.
According to my real life pics the rods where way too high, cutted them down with the cuttingdisk on my dremel.
Dryfitting on the bow, also added a pvc ring underneath for the next step.
This is why i added the pvc ring, more reinforcement plates at the base.
The front of the conical base is different, this is the start of another contraption at the front.
Since i was building two turrets i could start with the second one while the other one was drying, this one has a higher base, yet again used pvc tubing.

Thanks Guys, i'm Always goofing around inside the Cave, and yes Tom, the magic still works, it was a bit of a setback with the turrets but i'm finalising them now, as promised i took some pics of all the lights onboard the OSA,
The upperstructure placed with working navlights, i wonder if it's possible to add a toplight, have to think about that
And also some turret stuff, here i've made a new conical shaped base with the right angle, used 0,3 mm copper sheeting, it is placed down the grit for placing those reinforcement rods at the background, this fun took me most of the time, but on the end it's worth it.
Manfred.
