What a pity. I missed this visit because when I went to New York the INTERPID was being refurbished. Another reason to go back there.

I am just now posting pictures of the bridge. There was a CROCHETY OLD MAN on duty there. He must have been a volunteer. He said" Touch nothing and you wont get hurt! He definetely took the wind out of our sails. We were getting ready to back her out onto the Hudson river and take her for a spin. 600 lbs. of Steam pressure and let er rip!

Pretty big prop. Wonder what the price tag is on that one.

A little bit bigger

If you look closely to the first picture you can see the rear gunner trying to get out the back. This plane was shot down by a Navy B24. The rear gunner then thought better of it and stayed with the plane all the way down. Doesnt look like he had a parachute on.
