Hooking up Twin Drive Motors to a Single ESC

How do you hook up the motors and ESC in the Gato and Type VII, In series or parallel?

Thanks. What's the rationale for going parallel,( excluding the fact that if connected in series 1 motor burns out the circuit will be broken)?

compound wound motors, when hooked up in parallel will not run evenly -- the 'weaker' motor will shunt its current to the 'stronger' motor.
