The Type 7 WTC will give you a good lesson in learning the ways of a new SD.
Short answer is nothing. I think after operating that way every other weekend of summer for a decade, I pretty much covered every conceivable option in terms of waterproofing connections. Here is the "best" way I came up with - "best' means less likely to ingress water. IT therefore remains INFERIOR IME to the longevity of a new SD with no external power connections. Yes a new SD is a substantial investment - but the key word there is INVESTMENT. Its folly to save a couple of bucks on a system that is prone to break down. The questionable longevity of so-called waterproofed connections will cost you time and money.
Here is the "best' approach I have come up with. - But again I don't recommend this over parking a lower weight higher capacity battery in the forward end of the SD. The ALFA turns best when the boat is set up nice and light.

The white ring is styrene - fill this with RTV silicon

Charging wires that fit the females from the battery. The same male brass lugs penetrate through the WTC end cap. (See my diagram above)
