    To be honest, no experience.
I did it a few years ago and had some electric helicopters.
I really like tools and I'm very curious. I like to understand how things work. I have a workshop, quite good, in my house, with saws, bench drills, a machining lathe, and many others.

I'm a traditionalist -- I don't employ CAD, 3D printing, or any other 'robot' manufacturing. However, if I can help you any other way, I'm at your service, sir.

Thanks for the answer. I admire and am enthusiastic about people like you. As I am a beginner, and curious, and have a hobby, I want to try all the ways, with 3D printing to gain some experience and then try to mold my own hull. Thank you for any advice you give me.

Guys, forgive me for my ignorance regarding the subject, I'm really a beginner. For beginners, we ask questions that are considered stupid or meaningless to those who already have experience on the subject. But after all, everyone started on the subject in some way, no one was born knowing it. I'm saying this, perhaps because I'm a beginner and a foreigner (Brazil), I feel a bigger barrier, which is the language and the (social) way of dealing with the situation.

I saw that ABS, despite being more rigid (and more suitable for printing the RC submarine), is more problematic to print on an open printer (temperature and gas issues), so from what I saw, PLA would be more suitable for a beginner. Would that be it? The safety issue (gases) what is best to do for safety?

Try PETG if you don't have an enclosed printer. POLYMAKER is a good supplier. You must use a glue of some kind on a smooth PEI build plate. Otherwise you will destroy the build plate when trying to remove the part.

thanks. I'll look into that option.

The South Korean Navys new subs too...with vertical launch cruise missiles. Japan's new submarines with lithium batteries. Singapore's Navy.

I'll start with the S80, which seemed ideal at first. Is this project available on thingiverse complete?

All the 3d files are on thingiverse. There is a link on that page to a website with some additional information.

ASA is a good alternative to ABS and a little less prone to warping. PLA is strong but sensitive to temperature. If you have an open printer just put a cardboard box perimeter around the printer to shield it from drafts.

To make your 3d printed hull super tough, you could add some epoxy resin and some thin glassfibre cloth on the inside of the hull, then you'll have some pretty much as tough as a GRP hull.
