Well, I got the first part of your line covered. Let's see whether there will be a second part. :)

        Update:
The 15A fuses did the trick, both boats are now showing signs of life. One of the benefits of having two boats is that you can cross compare stuff and try to eliminate faulty parts. As it turned out the RC transmitter from the first boat (which was just "sold as is") is toast. I had a bad feeling when I touched the sticks and they had some strange resistance. The transmitter from the "perfect" boat has normally operating sticks and can work for either boat after moving the quartz.

As for the boats themselves, turns out the "perfect" boat (tested before shipping, yeah sure, that's why there was no fuse in it) has at least one servo not working, no pump working and no bag inflation. Might be all related to the same controller, don't know yet. Whereas the "sold as is" boat has actually absolutely everything responding. Even the emergency mode works (transmitter off, pump comes on).

So the next test will be to put the running boat into the bathtub and see whether it has any leaks and whether it can static dive. Glad we have a long weekend coming.

At least you have a parts boat. Finding any parts for this boat is almost impossible, and when you do, the prices are outrageous. The pump on that boat is crap. I tore a few down and fixed leaks, but it’s been a while. Get with Bob as he’s done several with mods that worked well.
Of the approximately 40,000 men who served on U-boats in WWII, it is estimated that around 28,000 to 30,000 lost their lives.

Sorry was away for a bit. The electronics on the Neptune and the seawolf that fail alot are the ballast pump controller, pressure sensor and the ballast pump. I had to replace all those electronics on three Neptunes already. I am working on 3 more Neptunes This time one for myself. Oh also the yellow ballast bag, the outer nylon starts to tear after a few years of use. Make sure to use some O-Ring Lubricant on all the o-rings, as you don't want the hard to get o-rings to dry out.

Thanks guys for the comments. All duly noted.

I fear the bag is not working as I don't actually see inflate. I suppose I would see that with the naked eye if it would work.

Yea even testing the Neptune dry, the pump would fill the yellow bag with air. If you hear the pump turn on and you tried both directions, then the pump rollers must had broken off from the pump shaft and is most likely broken. If you dont hear the pump turn on, try feeding power directly to the pump.

I hear the pump in both directions. So I guess time for a new pump.

No wonder since it seems you, Sir Sinksalot and Bob have cornered the market and bought all the boats left out there. :p

Never bought one, but I’ve gutted a few and fixed them. Mostly leaks from cracked pump tubing and over tight seals.

I had a few people ask for a Neptune, They didn't want to buy one off ebay as just about all sell there broken in some way, even know the sellers say they working. Also alot didnt come with radios. So they asked me to buy and fix them for them and buy 75mhz radios, as they all wanted to run them in a deep pools. Buying original Neptune electronics is all but impossible. But things can be made to work in a Neptune. to replace the broken parts

In case one of your clients needs another one: Italian Ebay has one for sale. Has been on there for over a year, probably because nobody here ever goes on Italian ebay. It's another one in "sold as is" condition.

Speaking of radios: Are there any "conversion kits" for the Quartz plugs? I have another radio at home but the quartz doesn't fit in because the holes are further apart than the legs on the quartz. Just curious.

Yea I know about the one Italy, there also one in Germany.I stopped ordering neptunes and seawolfs from over seas, as people in Europe just don't know how to pack a subs and I always need to source a 75mhz radio set and it very hard these days. 900mhz will work for them but it will only let you go about 4 foot down. Most people who buy a Neptune, use them in pools to drive to the bottom so 75 or 72mhz is needed.

As for using different size crystal plugs. I did have a bunch of receivers with tiny 75mhc crystals. I didn't have any more small crystals, so i desoldered the small plugs and added standard plugs so i could use the larger 75mhz crystals.

Not sure if this will fit, but it's a much better unit than the original, and the price is sensible too.

For bags, the fake blood bags are really strong and moulded in one piece.
