Subdriver Position in 3D Printed Skipjack 1:72

    Hi all,
I have printed the Skipjack 1:72 from The Nautilus Drydocks. I need to know where to position the Subdriver in the hull? Is there a general rule or procedure for determining where to position the cylinder in the hull?

The big thing is the ballast tank placement. You want it as close to the center of buoyancy as possible. If it's not 100% there, you can make adjustments with trim foam, but it becomes exponentially harder to trim out.

Thanks Bob, makes sense, I think I will try placing the SD in the hulls with all control rods etc but not attached to the SD until I find the sweet spot between surface and submerged trim, then I will know approx. where it needs to be with the least amount of foam & weights.
