    Lumpy - Intro

Hello All and thanks for allowing me to join this forum.

Thought I would take a moment to introduce myself to you all.

My name is Kris and I'm from Red Deer, Alberta Canada... eh!

I'm looking to get started in this whole R/C submarine adventure.

My daytime job is as a Makerspace Technician at a our local college. I teach students, staff and faculty
how to us 3D printers, laser cutters (Trotec), soldering, and basic electronics. I don't really consider it work. lol

I've done R/C car and drones in my past and enjoy the build process.

I've also built a 1:1 Aluminum R2-D2 that took over 3 years to "complete" and a lifesize Han in carbonite. Bit of a
    Star Wars fan. ;-)

Anyhoo, I'm here to research and learn and as usual will probably jump in with both feet to get started.

    Cheers!

Love Star Wars, love subs! I so enjoy the way this hobby makes you think. You will see many skills you have used already will apply here too!

So, first question is, do you want to pick an existing sub or a Sci-Fi one?

        Peace,
        Tom
If you can cut, drill, saw, hit things and swear a lot, you're well on the way to building a working model sub.

Lol I named my kids Ben and Luke....

I'm still trying to figure out what to do for my first sub. I like the bigger scale models Engel Typhoon ect and generally the british style nuke subs.
I've been reading and reading and want to choose a path that is right. I don't want a model that is over my skills level yet I don't like starting
at a point where i have to upgrade or re-purchase everything along the way (eg. WTC that is transferable between models).
