Had the idea of crossing a jet fighter with a Submarine and started workin on this. The shape and desired abilities made me think of a Puffin hence the name.
Puffin - work in progress

I presume the front dive planes are independently controlled for pitch/roll. How about for yaw?Make it simple, make strong, make it work! -
Still a work in progress, played with a few iterations of ballast system. I keep trying to make things harder than they need to be (Y?). Initially wanted everything in the wet except the receiver and ESC's. Have come full circle to where only the drive motor and servo's are in the wet so a lot of the internals are changing. In the mean time getting used to resin printing - first up the canopy. Check out the before and after polishing and sealing for clarity. next up resin printing the WTC - its an odd shape to do and needs to accommodate threaded inserts. as i build this keep seeing things to fix to make it easier to print, assemble, etc...

That peristaltic pump looks very similar to one I had a play with. If it is the same design, then the rollers have gears moulded in with a planetary arrangement and a small plastic gear on the motor shaft which is a simple interference/press fit. I found that the motor shaft gear loosened quite quickly when using the pump, which made it useless and would advise you swap it out with a brass item that is either a press fit or loctited onto the shaft.Comment

It's probably the same type unit. How much time did you have on it when this began happening? I could see it slowly egging out the hole in the drive gear. As for fixes yeah loctite or gap filling CA might work. A more radical solution would be to mold the gear on the shaft, then pull the gear, rough up the shaft and cast in place the gear in resinComment

Very short- just testing, probably less than a couple of minutes of use. When I suggested Loctite I meant with a metal gear. The plastic gear is a poor choice for this type of pump.I think the pump will work fine with a change of pinion to metal.Comment
