If you can cut, drill, saw, hit things and swear a lot, you're well on the way to building a working model sub.

You got that thing looking just fine -- lots of good work on display there, Hardrock. As to photos to this site: What a pain! The only way I can get good quality, big pictures up on this forum is to use an outside 'host'. I just started using photobucket and once I learned how to upload to that server and pull them down to my forum of choice, no problems.

Any attempt to upload pictures from my CPU to this forum has been met with failure. What's up, Mike?

Reduce the resolution of the pictures to width 1024 x height 768 and reduce the file size to app 130kb that you do by adapting the dpi of the image.

Calm down. I've fixed it. There is a handle on the hatch at the rear of the sail and quite a lot of red primer showing through the back top coat. All done. I'm working on the SD today.

I've been working on a simple SD for the Piranha. This one will be a dynamic diver but I have ordered some larger diameter tube which will go around the outside centre of this SD and which will be completely sealed. I'll run a small pump at the front of the sub to force water into the sealed tank. Internal pressure will only allow a realtively small amount of water to enter the tank against the resistance of the increasingly compressed air inside. I'm hoping to get enough water into the thing to take the boat to submerged trim. The pump will have to run continuously which will kill the battery in less than ten minutes but I'm prepared to put up with that at the moment.

The SD as of today. Click image for larger version

Can you post a close up of the internal layout of your wtc?

BTW, Which way did you go- bow or stern planes?

Can't you make a pinch valve? When you activate the pinch valve you can stop the thirsty pump?
