Battery question - series config of SLAs of the same capacity but different voltages
Hi Bruce thanks for this.
I don't mean to be skeptical, but I have had few electrically savvy boys at the last sub regatta tell me that anything above 5ah capacity in a c size cell is starting to push the bounds of what is possible. It would appear the RC stick battery here is dimensionally about what you'd expect from C cells. If it was D sized cells - no problem - even seen these in 10ah.
Thanks for the links nonetheless.
Best

John, hopefully, in time people there will become more accustom to Lipos. Back 3 or 4 years ago, people here would say
"YOUR GOING TO RUN WHAT??!!! OMG! R U CRAZY!!!
IT TAKES GREAT INTELLIGENCE TO FAKE SUCH STUPIDITY!
The initial configuration you mentioned at the start of the thread sounded fine to me.
Thanks Andy

The problem I see with these big NiMH packs is the charging time. I'm also a bit lost on where to find a good solid charger for NimH larger capacity packs, that comply with our good standards in Australia. I have seen Hobby King just put out a statement recently about "fake" chargers that don't comply.
