Gotta feel for those tank crews! Out there in "the boonies" and nowhere to "hide",
they were stuck doing whatever needed to be done in an effort to not "stick out like a sore thumb"!
I guess, in such a situation, you learn creativity pretty quickly!! Hats off to those guys!

Hello once again, and moving on.
I have now partly done the top hull, underneath hull one side and some of the Wheels. I have also cut out the two hatches where lower machine gunner sits and the driver. I have used Being Long German figures which I have trial fitted and it's good, just behind the gearboxes and interfering with nothing. I am hopefully going to purchase the Verlinden Panther G crew of 4 figs which you cannot beat for realistic detail.
I have now run out of paint so of to the Newsagent during the week for more to do more painting and final touch ups

Moving on, I have removed the paint now in preparation for my winter camouflage. As you can see my original white has now beeen stained by all those watercolours I previously applied. We have a nice creamy/yellow colour as the base, my pencilling has remained and will be painted in the correct colours as per Panther G schemes.
I am just playing around now while paint is ordered. I have now positioned hatch doors, crew a motley looking lot at the moment just to give me an idea of how she will look. Lot's more to do yet, but I am happy with my scheme.

There we are, me just fiddling, but I hope you are seeing a tank start to change into something presentable to me. I now have all the basics right and now with each new coat of paint she will start to change again. You can see it's not a quick process I use but it works. Of course I would not do half of what I have done if the tank would be another say summer camouflage as it would be the base coat, followed by the other selected colours but a good winter finish is something which is a little harder to duplicate. - McGowan 1.

              She's a beauty, Mate!!

It appears that the processes involved in getting the paint right are quite
time consuming. A small price to pay for a wonderfully authentic look!

You said that you removed the water colors to prepare for winter camo??
I'm assuming that this is necessary in order to have a proper base color??

Very labor intensive, but the end result is certainly worth the extra effort!
She looks like she's been "at it" for quite some time!! Well "battle worn"!!

Many thanks for the ongoing "history lessons" and inspiration!!
              Bravo, McGowan1!!

Thank you CG. Yes a good winter cammo looks great when it's done nicely. I have not done the snow effect yet, that comes after final painting is done. I hope to order the Metal gear boxes and metal tracks etc, this week, for info, I have found a great tank site here in Australia that sells all heng long parts and tanks plus upgrade stuff and upgraded metal tanks too. Great for me.
I am pleased you are following this and maybe I am helping you or at least making you think of a great tank for yourself.
My next purchase after this Iron Coffin is finished will be either the King Tiger with metal upgrades or the Abraham's, I will decide. I have been offered a great tiger in 1/16 called a Taigen. It's an all metal tank, not cheap but they have offered me lay by terms if I want it, VERY TEMPTING. OK I will order Thursday and when they arrive I will do an install thread on those.
                Okay cheers to all

I have put this tank in as it is also still in it's build/conversion. It is a WSN tank not so well known as the Heng Long brand and others, and I noticed I forgot to put that website in as they do postst internationally, it,s tank army.com, a good site if you want to take a look.Click image for larger version

Okay we need to finish the wheels and add a Zimmerit kit to the Tiger 1, touch up here and there. It is an Infra Red firing system with recoiling barrel. No smoke, I forget if I can fit smoke to it so I will have to have another look. It's not really important.st
Notice the tank commander is using a captured US 50.cal. instead of what he said about his issued pea shooter. See you are allowed. You are the commander after all. I quite like his decision. Ha ha.
                  Cheers for now.

Now that's better. Quiz question "What tank can you buy the most upgraded for?" Answer "What a stupid question, dummy".
Hope you like Tigers CG. I reckon they are Bewdy haha.

Luckily I'm currently "knee deep" into my Gato, otherwise I'd be all over
                          one of these like "white-on-rice"!!

                          Very cool. indeed!!

Great camo on those two! The darker one almost "disappears" into the table
                          covering beneath it!! Nice!!

Good day/evening to you all. I am now starting to start the Winter pattern on the Panther G. The yellow is incomplete and a darker yellow like Tamiya's Dark yellow followed by the Olive green pattern over the top is the yellow. Still lots to do yet but getting there now albeit slowly. I purchased a great set of decals today, Panzer Regiment Panther "HG Ausf G and my friend in England has ordered me a set of decals also. I don't mind as now the 2 Panther G's I have will be recalled nicely.
OK here she is as of tonight.

There are a couple of small paint errors, but nothing that I cannot fix/touch up towards end of painting.
Okay thanks for comments and tickets for Arny's tank ride start at 10.00 US.
Cheers for now, until next posting - Mcgowan1.

                                G'Day, Mate!

Just wanted to ask about all of the "dots"? Will they eventually, somehow, become blended
                                into the camo?

The "rust" color on the side of the turret looks a bit like a duck?? Hah!! That wasn't intentional, was it??

                                She's looking great, my friend!
