    Mike Caswell Stock Status Please

    Hello Mike

My question to you is, do you still have the lepton 6, 75mhz FM receiver and of course my interest, will it work with my Futaba FM transmitter? If you do have stock, how much is it? Also the proper crystal for it?

When I did the initial evaluation of the WFly receiver (about five years ago) I encountered massive interference and, as a result, did not recommend the WFly receiver for use within the tight confines of our smaller Sub-drivers.

However, recent tests by outside tech's -- who found no problems with the receiver aboard our SD's -- pointed me in the direction of a different testing protocol. Not too long ago I re-evaluated the WFly receiver and found it to be most compatible with the entire line of SD's we produce.

The initial caution against use of the WFly receiver, by me, was wrong. These receivers are compatible with use of our line of Sub-drivers.

              Hello

Is it possible to buy Just the receiver? I have a few Futaba 75mHz FM Dual Conversion Radios that I can`t let go, I want to stretch their life use and I have more subs than radios. I don`t want to have a transmitter for each sub But rather use a few Trans. to run All my subs. Can these receivers work with my older Futaba Radios mentioned above?

              Thanks for the help.

What Futaba Tx do you have, and what module is in it?

I have a couple of Futaba 9C Supers. Both work wonderfully with the Sombra Labs SL-8 75 Mhz. Can't say about the Lepton. I can tell you something strange: when I plug either a Futaba brand module for channel 78 into the Tx OR a Hitec Spectra module with 78 dialed in, it works great. But the earlier "non Supers" Futaba 9C won't work with the Spectra module. You have to use the newer version 9C. I tried two of the older ones with four different Spectras. Nope.

Moral of story is you have to be careful...

                  Thanks for ALL the info.

My OLD Futaba Radio Models are: 1. 4YF-FMch70, 2. FP-T4NBFch70, 3. FP-T4NBFch76, 4. AZPT4EXch63, 5. T6YGch81 ALL are FM 75mhz Dual Conversion receivers. I would like to either get more receivers that will work with these and put those receivers in the remainder of my submarines OR Buy ONE Transmitter with Several receivers, so that I can put them in each sub and go from there. For me a 6 channell is enough UNLESS the next larger channell is near in price BUT I still need Several receivers for ALL my subs.

                  What is my choice?????

You could get a Wfly 8ch radio, which is programmable for each submarine, and we'll fit you up with several Wfly 6 ch receivers. I think we have some Lepton 6 ones left too.

If you sold the others, you pay for this economic tx.

                      Hi Mike

Thanks for the reply BUT I have to sound dumb now with this question but what do you mean by "programmable for each submarine"? Remember I`m still VERY new to subs plus after 4 operations in three years, BEST sleep ever! I have also forgotten a few things thanks to the sleeping juice.

I believe that you can store the setup for many subs in memory, name each, then recall the sub you want to drive. So you can run more than just one sub from one transmitter. Sometimes 8 different subs, sometimes nearly 100, depending on the transmitter and how much memory storage it has.

So if one sub has a pump on it but another sub has lights on the same control, you can name two models in memory, and program one to turn on pump, the other to turn on lights a certain way.

Both subs however will talk to the transmitter on the same channel # on the module plugged into the back.

                        I hope that is clear.

Although I love my Futaba 9C's, The "WFLY" radio they sell here I understand is great, and you know it will work with the receivers also sold here. Also you will get a new transmitter for about 1/3 the price of a 9C, and that 9C will be used- not new- on eBay. You really can't beat the price.
