OK!
Rob,
Bob is giving it to you straight.
Most of us -- many discouraged by me to stop sending such complementary, useless 'fluff' -- refrain from loading up a thread with look-warm, boilerplate platitudes; grown-ups like me consider it rude to interrupt interesting and/or unique posts such as yours with such babble.
Consider this, Rob: though the posted comments to your thread may be response light, do know that people are studying your work and well appreciate what you are doing, and they are taking notes on how you progress with your good works. You serve a vital function here, pal. Keep the ball in play!
Continue your work and bang out those posts of your neat stuff, you Bum!

The Horrible
Thank you, Bob, David, and DrSchmidt. I understand what you are saying, and I certainly did not intend this to turn into a whining session about me!
It's sometimes hard as you get older to express the right words.
I have decided to continue on with the Seaview! And after analyzing my space situation, I think I may have an idea!?
I have these two areas where one might design a hanging solution or possible yet a rolling type rack with shelve brackets in front of the sliding doors!?
Moving on!

Casey,
All the time I have been on this forum, I had no idea that there was a private message box on the forum.
I just located it, and I am flabbergasted at how many messages I have in my box that go back to 2020! I see I have several from you. I am very sorry for not answering them, but I just did not know about the private message system we have in this forum...
I will certainly answer every one of them starting today. If anyone else is reading this that have left me messages, first please accept my APOLOGY, and then I will answer them! Just didn't know!

With respect to lack of comments.....I also follow all the builds and progresss reports here daily, but don't comment unti imput is neeeded, I'm really impressed, or I have a question. I post most most of my builds also on a Greman model building forum (https://www.wettringer-modellbauforum.de/). Most of my threads there get well past 1000 views, but comments are really scarce. Share because you want to sahre and you like others sharing, not because of the need for praise (even if latter give a goof feeling).Leave a comment:

Rob,Rob,
I'm sorry to hear that you've suspended Seaview. I was looking forward to your completing the project and seeing it in the water.
Don't be disheartened by any lack of comments. I, like many here, keep tabs on builds and check back often. There is a few of us that often elect not to post anything up unless we feel it can add some value to the thread, clearing it up from the clutter of "good job", "looking good", etc.

The photo above showing the part layout before printing came out bad.
The part did not have enough supports in some of the critical areas. That produced the stringing.
I added the additional supports, and repositioned the part on the printer bed, this time we have a perfect part.. OK! We can now move on to the next challenge on this build.

SPECIAL NOTE: I have decided not to continue on with the Seaview build. After looking at the boat as it progressed, I discovered that I really do not have anymore room for another submarine of that size. May be sometime at a later date, I may pull it out and finish it.

Just a little in sight into the printing process of the Seaview.
When downloaded H-upper or top. I could see right off the bat that I was in trouble. The photos above are showing 100% size. I thought well OK, no big deal, we need to reduce it down to the 65% No problem right! Wrong!
This was scary now, at 65% the "Z" axis was still to tall, and was not going to work. Then I really got lucky!!
I loaded it in the horizontal position on the build plate, and it just barely fit, and I am printing it as I am getting ready to post this.. Just a short shot at some of the challenges we can sometimes run into with 3D printing!
NOTE: This part did not have enough supports, and it failed...

Thanks Alan.
3D printing is a passion for me. It opens up all kinds of interesting build projects. I have right now 22 3D printed submarines, and most of the files came from Nautilus Drydocks files.

This is just some of the projects that I have built with my Dremel printer. All my sub builds are posted on this forum. Not trying to have this all about me! Just want to open your eyes to what is out there in the world of 3D printing. And it is very simple to learn, and the price on many good printing machine is anywhere from $225.00 and up.

Thank you, Rob, for the information I am impressed with what you have done so far, and, in the future, I may look into getting a 3D printer and the Seaview plans myself so I will be watching this thread and all that you accomplish.Leave a comment:
