    Holland Article

Meet the American who is "the father of the modern submarine." The first U.S. and British submarines, the USS Holland and HMS Holland, were the designs of John Philip Holland.
Of the 40,000 men who served on German submarines, 30,000 never returned.”

I love the look of the Holland boats, and, they work surprisingly well with that teardrop shape and stern plane configuration.
