    Bill,

I used an old 4 channel 2.4 transmitter and receiver for my build. I built and designed the UC-5 as a surface runner only. I started out in my WTC compartment design to use the VEX radio system. I then decided to go with a brushless motor with a bi-direction ESC! If you go back through my build blog you with see the methods that I decided to go with.

The first photo is the finished SM UC-5 U-boat with the surface runner sub driver cylinder. The last photo shows my latest Star Wars K2SODroid holding the SM UC-5 submarine. along of course my newest addition K2D2. Both new Droid additions are standing with my InMoov Robot which was built about two years ago.

The SM UC-5 performed great in my pool as a surface runner. If my eyesight holds out I am going to fabricate a new cylinder and add a ballast system .I will also try doing some scale paint work with weathering...
