    The interior of the boat is sealed, and the exterior has two coats of primer and has been sanded in-between each coat! I still have not come up with what my final hull colors will be from the three that I have in mind. This boat is very near total completion, and now I can put all my time on the SM UC 5 U-Boat build.

    I am also going to put my printer to work on another boat, just not sure which one yet!

    Thank you, Steve,

    Ita has been one of the most challenging boats I have ever built! But it has been the best performing boat in the swimming pool! With the enlarged rudder I can now do a full 360 turn in my pool, and that makes it a joy to run.

    Ounce I have all the finish work is completed; I will be sure to have my wife take a video of it running all out in the pool!

    Next comes the finishing work. I will be using an auto body grey primer 2 coats with sanding between coats and then the final hull colors, and then the final touch up finishing on the accessories!

    Andreas,

    The photo of 2D plan of the HMS Holland 1 looks like it could work for you for your upcoming 3D model build! If you decide to build the model, I hope that you do a build blog. I for one would be looking forward to it. You are the master at this concept, and the HMS Holland 1 is such a distinctive looking boat! Thanks for posting up the photo! :-))

    As I stated before after I had my first run in the water, I may be enlarging the upper and lower rudder!

    I 3D printed two new larger rudders and I did have to cut off a little excess so they would fit. No problem!

    The old rudder is on the right in the photo. The two new rudders are 5/16" wider than the old ones.
    I think this new rudder system will give me much better turning ability in my pool! :-))

    Andreas,

    In all my travels through the internet about the HMS Holland I have not seen any7 "cut aways" of the Holland. I have not been to Thinaverse or CGtrader. I got my STL files for my Holland build from CGtrader, but I did not notice any "cut aways"!

    I will start doing some more research and see if I might find one. I got to say with your wonderful skills as a modeler, the HMS Holland would be a show case model for sure!!

    A general arrangement plan of Holland 1-5 is in the online copy of BR3034 publication on early British submarines in plate 1;

    Also John Lamberts plan which appears to be based on the above general arrangement drawing is included in the Holland 5 wreck divers guide leaflet. The embedded plan in the PDF is reasonably high resolution if you enlarge the view of the PDF file.
