Interesting to note the "T" Plackard hanging from the jumper wire during the U boat torpedeo loading. Much like the "Bravo" pennant being displayed during weapons loading on allied ships, indicating hazardous operations. I have never noticed it in U Boat loading pictures before, but I will be aware of it in the future. Also it would be a nice detail to add on models. Color would be the question. I assume a white or yellow letter on a red backround. I would include yellow because thats the color of the stripes on the tower of training U boats. Sort of like the big yellow " Caution, Student Driver" signs on the cars in the 40s thru the 60s Yellow, indicating caution.

You noticed it right, the T stands for Torpedo, and on the other side it has NICHT RAUCHEN, colours can be varied, i've made mine with black background and white T.



This i the one i've made, black background and white T, a red background can also be possible, we will for sure when we find a colourpicture during loading.



Placed it, just like the picture, on the front antenna line, only difference is, i'm loading a practice torpedo with no warhead.



This test was conducted to see if it was possible to shoot missiles from a submerged boat, it was possible because the captain had a brother which worked at Peenemunde, the rocket researchcenter in germany.



In scale 1/35 build, it's possible to launch the rockets for real.

Again rebuilded it in scale 1/35.



Another strange one, i assume a attempt to upgrade the AA fire power.

Concratulations with your find, the book ages from the time i started with submarines, those times the only info to get, for me the German language is no problem since part of me is German, enjoy the book.
