I wasn't aware that you could do that. Ive have four or five Futaba 72mhz receivers. So after reading your reply about the crystal change, I got all excited that I could switch mine over. Since my receivers are dual conversion, I ordered two dual conversion 75mhz crystals. When they come in we will test it out. Thanks tsenecal, I hope it works.

Ladies and Gents,
With the cooperation of Matt Thor, we've successfully secured a large batch of Futaba 4 and 6 channel radios on 75 and 72mHz. Getting details now, but this is a good thing for the hobby. Brand new units complete with receivers.

OK.....................GOOD NEWS! But first, let me tell you of my trials and tribulations with this "Experiment". First of all, when tsenecal said that a 75mhz crystal could change a 72mhz receiver into a 75mhz receiver...............I was shocked. Didn't think it was possible, it CANT BE THAT EASY! Or can it? So, I decided to see if I could make it happen here. So I had these three Futaba 72mhz receivers that were clearly labeled "Dual Conversion", so off of Ebay I ordered dual conversion Rx crystals. I didn't really care about the frequency number because my "POLK" radio can select which frequency it is going to run on.
Well the crystals got lost in the mail. After an additional week they finally showed up. So today I plugged them into the receivers and hooked up servos, changed the freq. on the Polk to match and.....................................then...... .........IT TAKES GREAT INTELLIGENCE TO FAKE SUCH STUPIDITY!Comment

They didn't work. They just vibrated. Then I remembered that some receiver brands are negative shift and some are positive. Turns out that the Futaba is negative shift and my Polk was set for Positive. So I went into the menu and changed it and WALLAH!!!!!!! Badabeem Badaboom it works. COOL! Thanks tsenecal!

Epilogue: If you don't have a way to select the frequency using your radio, you have to make sure that your crystals in your transmitter and receiver match.IT TAKES GREAT INTELLIGENCE TO FAKE SUCH STUPIDITY!Comment
