Pretty darn close. Looks like the body of the sensor below the radome narrows in the centre and fears at the top and bottom. The side plate antennas are sitting just outside the base of the dome and the curved mesh antenna's horn is mounted very low on the body of the sensor. That forward mast is a killer as well. Until I saw the recent Polish photograph I thought that it looked elongated but its actually more disc like. And the biggest gotcha of all is the (navigator's)periscope that I thought was a satellite antenna! Live and learn.

Geeeezzzeee.... I hate auto correct!!! Perhaps the body could flare at the top and bottom, instead of fearing!!!

        Wonderful research guys!
If you can cut, drill, saw, hit things and swear a lot, you're well on the way to building a working model sub.

                  Hi Marius,

You can purchase .8mm LEDs from these guys
12volt LED lights for modeling project, top-quality, affordable. Elevate your models with radiant illumination. Ideal for various DC-powered hobby applications.

I am very lucky to have a small lathe and it does very well with most things. There is a grave yard of not quite perfect masts, however.

The shafts are stainless steel. The other bits are sandwiched polyurethane, turned down on a lathe. The light that Peter has fitted to his Akula is a .8mm LED sitting on a 1.5 mm aluminium shaft with a clear plastic top which I drilled out and turned down to fit the shaft. It needs a black top and base ring at present.

This is the final iteration of the dreaded MRP-23. Its not perfect but its the best that I can do.

And looking at the blown up photographs I have just realised that I put the antenna dish on backwards! Bugger.

                                HA ,

If these is not awesome , than what is it ?!?!?! .

I think it's better than you "GURU" of scale models are far from each other, on different continents, for otherwise the world would have been depleted of talent ,
So you can also share your experience to those around you and , in that way many people have won .

I think you are often too demanding with yourself , trying to make something perfect ,
In that way You waste your energy / time , energy useful to create other projects as great ,
Just a thought aloud .. .. not paid any attention ,
We as Apprentice are glad that can learn from You .
