I-53 Kit
Hi Bruce,
Thanks, although not accurate the boat is big and a great base for scratch building something better.
I am happy I stuck with this as it has turned out better than I thought.. A far cry from what was boxed.
Happy holidays and modeling projects.

After seeing Keith's build in person Monday all I can say is WOW!!!! He did a fantastic job with all the scratch building involved and is well versed on the details involved with IJN subs. Finally Lindberg's kit resembles something that actually served in the Japanese Imperial Naval fleet.Comment

Thanks Chuck,
it was a pleasure having you and your wife aboard Pampanito. It's always nice to have your work appreciated as I never considered myself more than a good model builder compared to the excellent work I have seen on this site. Now to get this thing finished so I can complete my skipjack start my Pampanito and? Well get the museum to make my plexi cases.
Happy Model making

Thanks Leenan,
It was a challenge but worth it for the scratch building experience and end results.Comment

Hi Jim,
Sorry for the delay getting back. We have been getting USS Pampanito ready for our Navy inspection this week. The links below are good for references, also I purchase Imperial Japanese Submarines by osprey press that has pictures and color profiles of Japanese B & C type submarines.
Feel free to contact me anytime and good luck on the build.
Keith
Here are a few links to other posts on this Forum that I found. Maybe they will help.

Keith,
Know all about Navy inspections, good luck! I have that book also. Thanks for the help and Sub-driver for all the links. I was just down to Carmel IN. and was given two 1/40 typ VIIB/C hulls to match the one I already have. So it seems my projects just grew. will keep intouch.
