Leaving the boat in white primer for Georgia but added some car wrap to the glass surfaces. Better than nothing… I also added a linkage to the stern plane behind the thrusters. Now linked to the normal stern planes and may eventually get a leveler.

First trip to the lake for some surface testing. I need to get away from the silty water but happy with the initial performance. This body of water is 600 miles long so I am hesitant to get crazy here.....I plan to tune at Subfest with the assistance of the pros..... Extra linkages will be brought to try different control arrangements.

Clever idea. Something I noticed in Bob's video: when he gives it throttle the deflectors he added to the rudders keep it fairly level while under power since the thrust/prop wash is going directly over them but as soon as he lets off the throttle and the model still has forward momentum it's starts drastically pitching down. As previously mentioned this was a problem with the real Wet Nellie. The shape is not ideal for a submarine but I am really enjoying seeing the different ideas created and implemented. Proper job!

Ready for the lake for testing. Based on Bobs excellent Lotus video,I went with a full length plane behind the props and added a control horn. I might attach it to the stern plane servo or adjust and fix it as needed.

Indeed you have, sir. In a world of 'talkers', you're one of the cherished few who actually make stuff.

It will be neat to compare setups and handling in Georgia too.
What should I CAD up next?

ATRAGON. Forty-some-inches in length (ability to fly and bore into the Earth, optional). Now!... you hear me?.... NOW!

Mixing in a bit of differential on the hydroplanes when turning should help with the heeling.

That was BEAUTIFUL! Well done, sir. Now, fix that god-awful heeling and you have it all.

That is correct. The 1/12 is glass and 1/8 is resin printed. You could drive a truck over the glass boat. The hope is to make a high power ultra hydrobatic model for the pool. Rolls and surface breaching kind of stuff.

Fantastic work. Love the Corgi toys too. I still have mine from when the movie was new. So you made a mold of the 1/12 scale and then made a glassfibre body/hull? But the 1/8 you are using the 3D printed hull directly? In the last photo with the Corgis and the carpenters square on the large model the back window looks more curved. Did you change it?

Looking forward to the lake test!
