T'ain't rocket science, people.
The full-sized boat is 400ft long with a beam of 23ft. If you want to use a 300 Series SubDriver (bearing in mind that I'll also soon be releasing the 2.5" 250 Series as well), then simply take the 3" diameter of the SubDriver, add 1.5" of annular space (which would give you 3/4" of room to add foam and weight), and you get a desired beam of 4.5".
23ft is 276". If we want a 4.5" beam, that means we need to divide the 276" by roughly 60, hence 1/60 scale. That boat would be 80" in length.
If you went with the new 250 Series instead, you'd get something more like a 3.5" beam, netting a scale closer to 1:79. I'd say you'd want a standard scale, so 1/72, making a boat that would be 66" long (a nice, handy size!)
