Of the approximately 40,000 men who served on U-boats in WWII, it is estimated that around 28,000 to 30,000 lost their lives.

Looks good....solid base colors are a must have to be able to apply a good weathering.

        Looking good Casey,

David M. would get put out with me for saying this, but that is the final look I really like! Just like it looked as it was rolling out the submarine paint shop! :-)) Weathering will be my next goal. It will be interesting to see what you do with your with your Blueback!

I’m not good at weathering. Solid paint I can do and the airbrush seemed straight forward. But I’m not artistic at all, and don’t have that 3D talent.

Casey! I never did any weathering myself. Never used an airbrush until now. You can see what I have been doing on my airbrush thread. Find something to practice on. Buy a section of PVC from Home Depot. Give it a try!

I was always a rattle can painter. Never decanted rattle cans. Never played with mixing paint. I am lousy with colors. Now I am enjoying it.
I have been converted. The more I play with the different ways to weather, the more confident I get doing it.

I got lead to water, and I am in deep now. Thank you David!!!!

                Bull****!

You simply don't have the balls to knuckle down and DO IT!

Good things take time, effort and dedication. Any idiot can squirt paint. An exceptional idiot can paint AND weather.

Casey, I have faith in you, pal. I think you have what it takes to be an exceptional idiot.

3D and weathering are aquired skills and not a talent. You start doing it and keep doing it and over time, you geht good at it. I do't know anyone who, just by talent, could do a decent weathering job straight away.

Sent a friend the picture. His response was: “are you painting a Rainbow Trout decoy?”

                        Casey,

It's just a beautiful biggening! Just like Picasso said "It will be done when it's done" At least you are brave enough to go after it!
