The next sub on the printer - 1/72 Typhoon

Using ABS on my Ender 5+. This one I am starting from the stern and working forward. So far I have the aft two hull sections done and the dive planes. 17.5" worth. Vertical stern planes are printing now. It will be over 95" long with a 12+" beam. Boolyah!!!

    AWESOME!!!

Are you using Nautilus Drydocks files, or did you design your own? Steve, that will be another real showcase for sure! A 6 foot Typhoon!!!!!

They are the files from The Nautilus Drydocks. It will be just shy of 8' when done. Just a little bigger than my Columbia but a whole lot more girthy.

I can't wait to see the control setup. Lots of room for working missiles in there... just sayin'....

How would one make them launchable? Springs? Pressurized air/water? Estes A sized rocket motors?

Very cool will probably pull the trigger on CAD files from Nautilus as well, always loved the Typhoon.

The files are good. I just finished the vertical fins and rudders.

What did you use for scaling, I use SW and it is not good with STL.

I scaled it to 200% in my slicer, Simplify 3D. Essentially just doubling it as it is already 1/144th.

Simplify 3D is the Best in my opinion!

Here is an odd one. The side rails on part 3B are printing completely separated from the hull. That is not how the part appears but how the slicer sees it. Not something I can't overcome but it would be nice if I didn't have to overcome it. Wondering if this is an issue of scaling it to the size it is?

This is most likely because the original files I sent Bob has the bulkhead ring and the hull section as two different parts. If you can't get it to work let me know I might be able to do something on my end.

Thanks Randy. I just may need some help. After having printed the THRESHER with its flange I personally would choose for the Tyhpoon to be like it. They would just be straight. I could print them separate and add them like I did on my Columbia but the hull would be stronger if they were part of it. Is that a possibility?
