Assembling several Small World Models 1/96 submarine kits
Are these mandrels for the planes and rudder stock bores?

Exactly, Bart. Over here in imperial-measurement-land the typical bores for control surface operating shafts range between 1/16", 3/32", 1/8", and 3/16". Yes, mandrels or 'handles' that make it a much easier task to work these smallish items with file, sand paper, and painting.
Here are some commercial and hand-made hand-vices I use to hold no-bore small work:
I've gotta ask, why three?, expanding the fleet?, customer order?, or just having massive free time?

We have this local (only 150 miles away) annual 1/96 only 'fleet run' in North Carolina. I want to add more boats to my fleet in that scale, specifically for that event. I had these on hand for a few years and decided to work them up over the holiday.
