Haven't worked much on the 598 as I got side tracked glassing the hull plug for the 1/96 Delta IV

Pics of the stern planes, top of sail and the mold. Finished the first layer of glass cloth on the hull. I shaped the new bow for the 1/96 Delta IV yesterday. That is the last styro foam I will ever use for boat hulls or anything else for that matter. Next boat hulls I will make out of solid balsa or thick sheet balsa to do the separate hull sections. Foam is way more expensive plus it is a pain to use.4 PhotosComment

Scotty beam me up or is it down do your eyes deceive you? That looks a awful lot like a dare i say a 1/96 Delta IV. I am even going to make it a split mold bow and separate stern just so you won't have to pawn your roo's to pay high shipping.3 PhotosComment

Yep just felt the need to build my old boat in what scale? Sorry Scotty just beam aboard. Boat is 63" long with a 5 1/2" beam. Started making the turtle deck separate as I think that is the only true way to build. Going to make molds upper and lower so for you people who live where roo's bug you to death and want one I can always hack the back off a little so it won't cost $600.00 for shipping. Started carving the sail today. I will have some resin casts masts to go with it. Other build I am close to being done on is a 1/72 Thresher.John Slater

Guys I have had several inquires about 598 kits. I sold the 598 molds/plugs to Don Speilberger so you are going to have to rattle his cage to finish it up. I just got done splitting the molds for the 1/96 Delta IV. Going to make the first hull in next few days. Sold the house and don't have much time to work on models until I move back to Dallas.Comment
