Yeah that's the drawing I referred to......thanks Gantu.....fwd capstan is missing.

And to prove I'm right about the aft capstan.....see arrow on below picture.....raised capstan......ropes running in front of it......end of ropes on PS hull she is moored SB.

Now I will return and submerse myself in the VICTOR III again.

This is the forward hatch.. with raised bollards set at an angle - wider spacing at forward and narrower spacing aft.




And THIS is the ???? with the bollards equally spaced.

Interesting......I wonder wy they replaced the capstan by a hatch....just kidding.......Can’t argue against that pic Scott….seems you have more pictures of the thing then I have.

The plug is in the jig and I am puzzling over exactly where all those hatches and holes go. Progress so far:

Its plywood Tom. I took the dividing head off my mill and bolted it to one of the uprights. The plug is mounted on 1/8 SS rod that is clamped into the diviving head's jaws. Set the angle to "0 Deg" and everything else is easy. I'm planning to run a scale along the bottom edge to make karking off easier. At the moment I'm taking the marks off the plan and just projecting them up to the plug using a right angle set square.
