  • Time for action. I don't much like to lower hull mould so I'm going to do ir again. So far the thixo has just made this rubber runnier! Might take a number of coats to get to the right thickness.

OK. Its official - I ****ing hate fiber glass. The damn stuff sticks to EVERYTHING like **** to a blanket, except the damn mould. I've made three hulls and they all look like ****. There are wrinkles on my wrinkles and holes in my holes. I think I'll just carve a couple of boats out of cement. I'm sure that that will be easier.

Meanwhile I am adding some detail to the Romeo now that I know it floats.

                  • Thanks Mate. I went back and read some of your earlier stuff and spent most of yesterday reading up on the process. Looks like I was doing most things wrong! I laid up two hulls last night so I'll go out in a minute and see how they turned out.

                          • Apparently you have exceeded your private message quota. Can you PM me your address again. Several computer crashes and one move later, I find that I can't find it - or as they say in Welsh, "There is was, gone".
