Just to answer ??? about my build, it is on hold for the moment. Waiting on a few parts and am re arranging the shop a bit. Adding shelves to free up workspace as I build 1/8 scale unlimiteds (have 6 going ATM), so needed to store 'up'. Things will be back to normal in a few short weeks.

A wood boat. I've built three or four Dumas boats and one scratch built. Looks good. There was a company called Thunderboat reproductions that made 1/8 scale unlimited. I don't know if they are still around

A Thunderboat Reproductions cowl on the "93 Winston I built some 25 years ago. They are not around anymore. Used to be, back in the day, we all bought plans from Roger Newton, the late great czar of 1/8 scale racing, Then came weeks of transferring patterns to sheet ply and start cutting out. Today, ML Boatworks has converted all of Rogers' 1/8 scale plans via CAD and all frames are laser-cut and very builder friendly. Cowls/wings from RC Boat Company. One can build virtually every unlimited hull that ever raced. The Circus boat was my 1st attempt at 1/8 scale some 25 years ago, built from the Dumas kit.

Cool! Back in the 90s I taped every Unlimited hydroplane race that I could. I've got quite a collection. Chip Hanauer and Mark Tate were all the rage. Budweiser dominated almost every race. I loved the Miss Madison Tony the Tiger. I was hoping that Budweiser turbine 5 would turn into something. You know, the wing boat
