    Beluga 1/72 Scratch built

    Hello gent's
I'm preparing for a new scratch built. Specs:
    • Beluga
    • Scale 1/72
    • LOA x Beam 889x125mm / 35,0x4,9inch
    • A standard 2,5” SD will fit in this sucker
I have all details covered of the upperpart of the sub but the lower part is foggy and still unknown territory……so if anybody has information about it please share so I can start building this thing.

I will built two of these for sure, so my aims and challenges for this model are:
    • Incorporate all the crazy details into the masters and use a silicone rubber jacket to get all the goodies transferred onto the GRP hull (new)
    • GRP hulls must consist of 6pc (upper and lower aft part; upper and lower middle part; upper and lower fwd part) with incorporated locating pins for easy assembly (new)
    • All parts must go in one tooling (been there, done that)
    • Cast a metal propellers (new)
    • Get a 2,5” SD for Christmas from She Who must be obeyed (that will be the most difficult part of this built)
    Grtz,
    Bart

How about modding a 1/72 Skipjack kit with a new sail and stern planes...
Make it simple, make strong, make it work!

Just my two cents worth. I think 1/96 would be too small
IT TAKES GREAT INTELLIGENCE TO FAKE SUCH STUPIDITY!

1/60 would be Even better. That way I could have a running mate for my Albacore

Because of their awkward design, my priority goes to the Russian subs….but never say never

Thks gantu, but I think we have the same, not showing UW details?
I have found some evidence of two hatches iwo her stern, one big hatch just aft amidships and a hatch on PS amidships. But nothing more. I know someone who knows someone that can speak Russian maybe she is willing to translate some Russian publications I found, and I get some more information.

Scott, I built RC submarines not suppositories LOL, 1/96 she will measure 667mm / 26,2 inch.
And after the 1/144 scale parts I want to make something without using a microscope.

BWI what I meant by modding the Skipjack was about using a 1/72 Revell or Moebius Skipjack kit and convert it into a Beluga. Several years ago I got in touch with Greg Sharpe. He converted one of HWSNBN's 1/96 Skipjack into the Beluga by swapping out the sail and tail. Here are some photos of his creation.

OOOOOH NOOOOOO.......that will mean no dust, no fumes, no scribing, no primer, no sanding, no primer, no sanding, no primer, no sanding……….........did I mention no sanding? .......What's wrong with you people.

Nice looking model Redboat….and a great Idea if you go for a one ping boat….I have to do at least 2 of them.

                            Grtz,
