      Absolutely fantastic. Amazing model and effects work on Das Boot.

      I have a funny memory of Das Boot. The first time I saw it was at our neighbors house when they invited us to come over for movie night. This was around 1983 so I would have been 12-13 years old and this was in the era of renting VHS tapes. They started with Das Boot and I was totally intrigued with it but everyone else was bored so they switched movies to "Jekyll and Hyde...together again" a horrible comedy that had a lot of sex and drugs that was very embarrassing to watch with my parents and I did not enjoy at all.

      I watched Das Boot by myself the next day.
