    D&E Skipjack Subdriver

I am prepping a D&E 3.5” Subdriver specifically made for the 1/72 scale Skipjack. It has a Sombralabs SL-8 receiver. The entirety of the receiver wire is bundled within the Subdriver. The rear bulkhead has a bolt connected to an exterior wire, which I believe is an exterior extension for the receiver wire to be stretched out around the WTC in the wet area. Would it be correct to cut the receiver wire only long enough to connect it to the rear bulkhead bolt?

It works, but I've heard that cutting the wire can have adverse effect on the reception. Better to run it intact out an exterior hose that doubles as a test hose for leaks.

Run the antenna wire through the bulkhead into silicone tubing. It’s the same one you blow into to test for leaks.
