    Caswell 3.5” WTC question

    David
I just purchased a 3.5” WTC. The WTC was purchased from Caswell and the previous owner never got it working. I figured out the correct receiver channel and powered it from a 2S battery, I don’t have a 3s battery right now but it requires a 3S battery, and everything worked. I cannot figure out what these black boxes are for in the WTC. The ESC servo connection red power line is taped over and not used.

WTC-1 & 2 – the part is powered from the battery and goes to a channel in the receiver. (Some sorta voltage regulator)
Labeling as best as I can tell

WTC-3, 4, &5 – the part is on the black lines on the ESC. (I have no idea)

    Thanks

The one with 7805 looks to be a linear voltage regulator.

If you can cut, drill, saw, hit things and swear a lot, you're well on the way to building a working model sub.

OK, thank you for your answers, I’m a dumb a**. I don’t remember seeing these components installed in other WTC, why would these components installed?

Likely because if you blow up the ESC, you also loose all hotel services, which means no fail-safe. A BEC wired off the main power cable will provide hotel services to everything, directly through the receiver bus.
