I'll bet those lakeside people love you and that expansion chamber on a lazy Sunday morning. OPB superboats come down here a couple time a year. The CATs dominate the course inside the reef because of the calmer water. The big deep V Ciggarettes make up the differance on the outside, where it gets rough. so when they all bunch up at the U turn in front of the city piers, its a maylay of rooster tails comming and going. Crashes flips and fires like a NASCAR race.

No, Im too carefull about things like that. Its always Saturday afternoon and some of them come over to watch, others couldnt care less. One time the cops were called but he came out, took a look and said I was fine, dont worry about it.

Today I pulled her down to work on getting some negative angle on the prop and driveline. Out came the Dremel with cutoff wheel and I trimmed 1/8" off of the end of the stuffing box tube and then put the cone back on it and reinserted a freshly greased flex cable and prop shaft back in. I then adjusted for about a degree or just a tad more of negative angle. Thatll probably get it but we will have to get in some test time to see. If its too much I can always back it off some. The first picture will be of the last setup. Its about parallel with the hull bottom. The next shot is with the new adjustment.

Friday was the day. As usual it was blazingly fast and very stable in the turns, but on the straights it was trying to jump out of the water. As you know Ive been slowly adjusting the drive angle downward. So after today I saw that we need to go further. It ran about 3 minutes and it abruptly came to a halt. I paddled out to get it and discovered that the factory installed battery plugs had a cold solder joint and a wire popped off. Too much production and NO quality control. Thus is the day and age we live in. Ill swap out those weird connectors for some Deans Connectors and we will be ready for next time.

So when I got home from the pond, I couldnt resist getting out the tools and adjusting the drive line some more. So here is the result.
