What other possible use could there be for a Jet engine than powering a aircraft?

The above posted picture is a Mig-15 engine being used to blow off debris and other unmentionables from the flight deck of a Russian aircraft carrier. It doesnt stop there. In fact the Russians have a whole fleet of these vehicles for use on land as well, to blow snow off of runways and to de-ice the wings of aircraft. Whodathunkit?
