    Thanks David.

I've got two type 7's Revell subs and two working type 7 S/D's so just fit me in when you can. This S/D will be a back up cause I guess I'm a little hard on them. Maybe I'll get another revell type 7 kit. I really like the type 7's.

I'm going to assume that the motor bulkhead showed up at your cave.

Got it. Great packaging job, by the way -- wish more people would exercise such care with returned goods.

        I'm on it.

No hurry. Do it as time permits.

I've started helicopters while waiting for the weather to warm up. So far helicopters 1 me zero.

            Jack,

            All fixipoo.

Both motors were fried. What the hell are you doing to those poor things, anyway?! I hear-by christen you: 'the Josef Mengele of SD's'!

Both motor commutator brush pads were glazed over with carbon.

Man! You have some heavy-duty friction problems somewhere in your submarines running gear. Fix that before sticking a SD back in there.

            Anyway ...

... The motor bulkhead, with new tested motors, is on its way back to you.

I want to applaud you again on the great packaging job. I appreciate the care you exercised to get the product here undamaged -- wish more guys would be so thoughtful.

Thank you for the fast service. You never mention money. I've got to owe you many marks (Josef Mengele).
I would mention that the new kit S/D I got from you many months ago is in the type VII that the fried S/D came out of. So far it seems to be a happy S/D. I've not got much time on it but it seems happy. Both screws purring like a kitten.

I'm wondering if it's me putting light oil on the oil light bearings? I did that to my grandson helicopter. I noticed that it was having allot of trouble getting off the ground and flying very low. Thought maybe I was losing a motor. Then I remembered I had oiled the bearings. I put some Ronsonol lighter fuel on the brush end and ran it. (scary) It cleared up. Fly's great today. I did lightly oil that S/D. I think all the S/D's.

Let me know how much money to send. Thanks again.

              Jack

                Dear Angel of Death:

                Oh, great!

Ellie took a break from cooking lunch and was reading over my shoulder when I opened up your recent post. She's out of range now. She bonked me on the head with a sauce-pan when she got to the , "... how much money..." part. She said to charge you 20-bucks or there would be hell to pay. There you have it. Nice work, pal.

I slipped in a spare motor with installed extension drive-shaft -- I know how horrible you are with this fine product of mine. Please, don't look on it as a spare; no, more like a sacrificial offering to the Great God of Jammed Running-Gear. He will be pleased.

No, no trouble with the light oiling (I assume it's something like a '3-in-one,' general purpose hydrocarbon oil) of the seals and bearings. Have at it. But, you would be better served (longer life on the rubber parts) if you used silicon or salad oil.

                David,

OOOps! Didn't mean to get Ellie after you. I know who's the real boss over there.

I use Silicon oil on all the rubber seals and o-rings, only light machine oil on metal stuff like bearings. The forum taught me that.

I'll put money in the mail first thing in the morning. Twenties not enough with parts, postage not to mention labor. After all RC submarines requires one who's willing to cough up his first child and a future draft choice. It will be more. Give the bonus to Ellie. She deserves it.

                  Jack.

Good job on the repair David.

I guess the extra motor means I'm on my own for my next motor failure. Or I'd better look long and hard at the running gear in my first type VII. I sure put the hurt on those commentators! (The spelling doesn't look right). They look real bad (Burnt).

                            Thanks again.
