    Saltwater Concern?

Has anyone had experience running in for example a Saltwater pool? Any issues other than Radio Signal, for example is it OK to use an Outrunner Motor in Salt Water? What about an Engel Sub in Saltwater? Considering the 300 Series SD from Bob and also an Engel Sub.

It doesn't matter the sub, its the signal that counts. Most signals, whether its 75mhz or 2.4ghz will not work thru saltwater. Basically if you have your antenna on the tip of your periscope sticking out of the water it would work. But once the periscope goes under water you will lose control in salt water. however it would all depend on the amount of salt in the pool. For a Engel sub, yea just remove the dry-hull and then you can put one of Bob's subdivers

I am aware of the Radio Signal issue, mainly interested in whether the motor might suffer corrosion, I understand would need to rinse it with freshwater? Also, on the Engel wondering if the pump system might suffer corrosion, not considering putting a 300 SD into an Engel

Yes you are correct, when ever you run any motor or exposed metal in salt water you must flush it with reg water after use. As for the Engel piston tank, the metal holding the rubber plunger might suffer corrosion quicker over time if not flushed out with fresh water. However for your motor you may want to spray on some anti-corrosion spray on it before you put it in any any water. Something like CorrosionX
