PLA Recycling

Anyone found responsible recycling for PLA Scrap? I know it is biodegradeable, but not able to compost. Melting it and making filament from it seems expensive?

It's plastic just like some of the other plastics(isn't it?) that the town collects ( at least here on LI, NY) on the metals glass and plastic day..they grind it up and make olifin rugs , ty-vek among other things from it.

I am finding they don’t recycle it as it melts at a much lower temperature then regular plastic such as plastic bottles.
